Unless indicated otherwise, existing management measures remain in place. Please refer to your lobster licence conditions for further details. Licence conditions are available on the National Online Licensing System.

Tracadie (NB) – July 13, 2023, Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) wishes to inform scallop license holders in sub-area 21A of Scallop Fishing Area (SFA) 21 that the commercial scallop fishery in this sub-area will be suspended for the 2023 season. This temporary measure is being enacted following industry recommendations.

Tracadie, NB – July 10, 2023 - Fisheries and Oceans Canada is announcing the fisheries management measures for the Eastern New Brunswick fixed-gear licence holders fishing Atlantic halibut in NAFO Division 4T.

Your licence conditions are now available online.
As you may have noticed, the only confirmed information is the number of hooks, 175. Our recommendation was 200.
The notice to harvesters is now blocked in Ottawa, with the following information on it:
-Opening date
-Number of fishing hours
-Decision on the opening of zones 4T5 and 4T7

MONCTON (NB) and QUÉBEC (QC) – June 30, 2023 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) announces the implementation of a mandatory hail out for the commercial and bait herring fisheries in 2023 for all harvesters from the Gulf and Quebec Regions.

MONCTON (NB) and QUÉBEC (QC) – June 30, 2023 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) announces the beginning of the southern Gulf of St. Lawrence herring summer fishery on July 3, 2023 for Herring Fishing Areas (HFAs) 16A to 16G. A Total Allowable Catch (TAC) of 250 t, taken from the herring fall TAC, is available for the summer fishery.
