Moncton, NB – July 18, 2023 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), Gulf Region, announces the 2023 management measures for Lobster Fishing Area (LFA) 25. Unless indicated otherwise, existing management measures remain in place. Please refer to your lobster licence conditions for further details. Licence conditions are available on the National Online Licensing System. 

Notice to Fish Harvesters - TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF COMMERCIAL SCALLOP FISHING IN SUB-AREA 21A OF SCALLOP FISHING AREA 21 IN 2023

Message from DFO

Tracadie (NB) – July 13, 2023, Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) wishes to inform scallop license holders in sub-area 21A of Scallop Fishing Area (SFA) 21 that the commercial scallop fishery in this sub-area will be suspended for the 2023 season. This temporary measure is being enacted following industry recommendations. 

Update - Halibut 2023

Your licence conditions are now available online. 

As you may have noticed, the only confirmed information is the number of hooks,  175.  Our recommendation was 200. 

The notice to harvesters is now blocked in Ottawa, with the following information on it:
-Opening date
-Number of fishing hours
-Decision on the opening of zones 4T5 and 4T7
