Below is the draw schedule for March 6th, 2024. Note that all community snow crab fishery draws will happen on that day.

The 2024 Community Snow Crab Fishery Draw information was mailed out last week. You should receive your envelope shortly, if not already.

To watch (virtually) your community’s draw live, please register in advance by sending your name and email address before March 4th, 4:00 pm to: tracadie@mfu-upm.com or by phone at (506) 395-6366
The draw schedule and the Zoom link to watch will be sent to you by email the day before the draw.
Spring Herring 2024
Spring Herring - Experimental netting of spring herring using commercial style gillnets.
DFO is looking for fishermen to complete an experimental spring herring fishery in these following regions:
Region 2: Two vessels & two Captains in region 16B will each be responsible for fishing five commercial style experimental gillnets on the same night, once per week for a total of four weeks.
Region 3: Two (2) vessels & two (2) Captains in region 16C will each be responsible for fishing five commercial style experimental gillnets on the same night, once per week for a total of four weeks.
Region 4: Two vessels & two Captains in region 16E will each be responsible for fishing five commercial style experimental gillnets on the same night, once per week for a total of four (4) weeks.
DFO requires that one of the two boats in each region perform additional sets with a variable-mesh experimental netting. This will be discussed after the winners have been selected.
