May 14, 2024 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) is providing notice of grid status updates related to North Atlantic Right Whale (NARW). The information presented herein is consistent with the 2024 NARW management measures previously announced by DFO.

The representatives of the sub-areas B, C and D on today's call have decided that the season will start on Sunday, May 5, at 6.00 am.
LFA23 Fishing Season Opening - update april 30, 2024
The representatives of the sub-areas B, C and D, on today's call, have decided that an another call will take Thursday May 2th at 4pm.
This delay is due to weather and safety concerns.

LFA23 Fishing Season Opening - update April 29, 2024
Representatives of the sub-area 23A on the call gave the recommendation for a season opening on Wednesday, May 1. The Notice to Fish Harvesters will be available shortly.
The representatives of the other sub-areas (B, C and D) on today's call have decided that an another call will take place tomorrow very early in order to determine an attempted opening on May 1st. This delay is due to weather concerns and safety.
